Dan Champagne for Connecticut State Senate
Mayor Dan Champagne has served as Vernon’s Mayor since 2013. He was born and raised in Vernon, and served for 22 years as a Police Officer in the Town of Vernon.
Before being elected Mayor, he served on the Vernon Town Council from 2005-2011 and is a past member of the Vernon Drug and Alcohol Council and the Vernon Youth Services Advisory Council.
He graduated from Rockville High School and holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from Manchester Community College, a BA in Sociology from Eastern Connecticut State University and a Master’s of Public Administration from UCONN.
Mayor Champagne served our nation in the Army National Guard from 1987-1992 and served as a police officer for 22 years in the Town of Vernon. Mayor Champagne received the Distinguished Service Award in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2008, and 2010. He also received the Meritorious Service Award in 2004 and 2005.
Mayor Champagne has been married to his wife Karen for the last 26 years and they are the proud parents of Emily, 23 and Melissa, 21.
